The Law of Polarity embodies neutrality and balance; it defines the expression of two ends. In other words the Law of Polarity embraces opposites. However the optimal state of polarity is balance. This optimal state can best be described in terms of the archetype of the Grand Mother figure. The Grand Mother provides a state of balance, love, and harmony. Within the Law of Polarity she is centered and reflective of the opposite ends of this state of polarity. She is the mediator but not a judge as she provides guidance whether that guidance is taken is dependent on the opposite’s sides that seek her consul. She is seated top dead center (TDC) of the State of Polarity.
Now the opposites are her children that always are at extreme odds with each other. They vie for their Grand Mama’s attention, praise, and love. She holds each close and both are very dear to her as she is the reason they are alive. She bakes them chocolate cookies when they visit regardless of a right or wrong action committed as they feel safe with her for they are a part of her in every respect. For the Grand Mother is integration of the two sides in its purest form. She is the embodiment of strength, steadfastness, and oneness. She understands her children better then they understand themselves. She is the universal force that holds life in a state of continual balance and motion. For she has raised many and nothing gets by her that she doesn’t know or understand as polarity is a simplistic state of balance and acceptance.
Will these twins of the extremes ever unite to become one, maybe yes and maybe no. the Grand Mother knows this and draws them unto her regardless of their flaws as she loves each the same in their own way without judgment, correction yes but judgment no.
However the opposites of positive vs. negative, good vs. evil, right vs. wrong, poor vs. rich, and love vs. fear, etc. fight against each other with contempt, sibling rivalry that love each other unto death. And at times it seems they will indeed succeed. These opposing siblings are forces of extreme ends of a spectrum based on differences within our physical, societal, and personal world. These extremes always run back to their Grand Mother for validation, acceptance, and nurturing. They run back but can’t stay long as they feel their extreme positions being dismantled that makes each uncomfortable. In other words the twins of extremes like to hold on to self like a badge of honor. And why is that, because neither has understood where and why the Grand Mother exists and what her position is in the state of Polarity. You see extremes always view life through the lens of separation, warring factions, opposing forces on distant mountain tops, or as far as distant galaxies. All this sounds like metaphor and I do understand that however a single fact remains true and constant and that is the Grand Mother exists where, in the center, TDC, and why, to bring balance and harmony to an out of balance world that has lost its way.
Extremes don’t exist in the center and neither do the twins of extremes until they need a touch of validation and love from the Grand Mother. A touch of love does not mean it will not come without a cost of force or harshness. And that is the approach needed in this day and age, a good spanking of society in other words.
The Law of Polarity can be best described as two sides of the same coin. And the two sides are the warring twins of opposing points of view. And the Grand Mother, she lives in the center for she is the coin. She is the currency, the gold, we all need and desire, the currency of care and love.
And this is where the Law of Polarity can truly shine with hope.
